Hi Suz,

Just joined the group and seen your message and since I also have the

same problem though I would let you know what I have done for it.

First, keep your feet as warm as possible, I even wear winter

slippers at home in the summer. Helps a lot, never let your feet get

cold.

A couple years ago when mine first started I was taking a pancreas

concentrate but then decided I didn't need it so stopped.

This I found out and keep in mind this works for me and may not work

for you.

Slowly but surely the pain got worse in my feet, till I was unable to

sleep at night because of it. I decided I had to go back on the

concentrate and see if that really did help. (Contains the little

extra things not found in man made insulin) I started taking 2

tablets a day and it did help but was not the greatest. Then I added

a little Chromium Picolinate at least twice a week. Seen

improvement, but still had some pain. Then added a caplet of

Primrose Oil each day and that did it. Still have some numbness but

can now feel the petals to drive again and the pain is almost gone.

I can live with that. I take these in addition to my insulin and

does not seem to have any effect on that.

Doctors can only help you so far and then its up to you to take care

of yourself. I have tried many things, some work and quite a few did

nothing. Whatever you do check it out on the internet and make sure

it is ok for diabetics. Some things can do real harm.

By the way, the next time you have a blood test done at the doctors

ask to have your thyroid checked. One the signs of low thyroid is

cold hands and feet. Doesn't hurt to be sure that is not a problem

too.

Very painful and hard to treat from what i understand. Hands and feet

are very cold all the time and hard to walk and use my hands.
