I was unsure what that all really meant. I went to the bookstore and bought Diabetes for Dummies and H.E.L.P. by Jo M. Lund. The first brought me up to speed, the second gave me hope. It told of how Jo's parents lost their joy for living after they both became diabetic and could no longer eat normal, everyday foods. This was before home testing, so they had no idea of how we make adjustments now. Long and short of it is, Jo writes these books so people like her parents do not have to be discouraged and give up on life! She includes nutritional values for everything she does. This way, you can decide what you can eat that day without causing a carb related high. Much more is known today and Jo makes good use of it. I am very proud to call her friend. I enjoy her books, her views on life, and the way she takes time for her friends. Like you, I want to come, go, and do. Whenever Don is well enough, we will be gone, enjoying life to the fullest! Wishing you well, Hugs, marilyn
