Hi Donna! I am a type 1 diabetic on an insulin pump and I just

started the South Beach diet last week. My ultimate goal is to lose

50lbs, but I am starting with an interim goal of 30lbs by 10/1.

On South Beach, they give you guidelines, but do not give a total

limit on carbs like Atkins. Certain foods are off limits in the

first phase and reintroduced later.

I won't bore the whole list with the rest of the info, but there's

plenty of resources on-line if you are curious. And I'd be happy to

exchange food ideas if you wind up going on this diet (although, I do

not eat meat except fish).
