My abdomen hurts, so I took a pain pill. My brother who is 57 just found out he has a cancerous mass in his abdomen. He went in for surgery today, and the dr. just closed him back up and and told the family it was the worst case of cancer he had seen ( and he only does cancer surgeries). Needless to say, I am devastated, as well as the rest of the family. There are seven of us siblings, ranging in age from 45 to 65, and we always wondered who would be the first to die. They have all worred over my pancreas problems, and did not want me to know about Duane's cancer. I am worried about my brother and my 85 year old father who is not taking this well. I am also worried about the stress causing my pancreatitis to return. When my sister-in-law died of cancer in November, I ended up in the hospital with pancreatitis the day after I came home from the funeral in IN. My brother lives in Indianapolis, and the rest of my family is in Lafayette, so needless to say, it is very stressful for me being so far away. I know I have to go back and see him, but I am so afraid, because I will have to tell him goodbye for the last time. Please pray for me and my family. Thanks for all your support. I have gone three months without an attack, and I so want to avoid one.... Cecilia Cecilia soce@... Guest guest
Hi all, I am a big fan of Dr. Bernstein's book on Diabetes, and used his low carb methodology to get my bs down initially. I was surprised that he says diabetics make too much over stress, and his attitude is that you may not be able to control many aspects of your life which create stress, but through diet, exercise, meds, and even insulin (which I didn't want to take) you can control your blood sugar. A couple of people have recently posted that their doctors slight their high blood sugar when treating other conditions, this seems to be a big mistake. A med student friend of mine describes diabetes as the Mother of All Diseases, because the complications affect so many organs. Even if the dr. won't prescribe some metaforin or another body sensitizer, you need to limit your carb intact, increase your fiber, walk or exercise 30 minutes at least three times a week, and try to lose weight, while monitoring your own bs. Try to stop diabetes before you have complications or before your insulin producing capacity is all gone. Cindy
Guest guest
Norma Jean- Like someone else said you need to contact the head person in your county and report this to them and file a complaint. Also contact the headquarters of the complex. I had a rat problem in my complex and the only way things were done was that I contacted teh headquarters. It is against the law for them to kick you out for their problem in your home. Did they expect you to live in a home where gas was leaking? What if a fire broke out? They gonna kick you out for that too? You did it for the sake of you and your family's safety. I would contact everyone you can in your city and county and file a complaint. Good luck with it all and keep us posted. Guest guest
Norma Jean, That's awful news. Why would they kick you out because you called the power company? That's messed up. I hope that there is something that you can do about your landlord insensitivity. -.
