Just wanted to come by & say thanks for the invite to this club. It

means alot to me to have some type of support regarding my type one

diabetes. I love the idea of having recipes on here, that helps

tremendously.

To tell you alittle about myself, I was diagnosed with type one

diabetes 2 years ago. I was having some lab work done for some

upcoming surgery and I got a phone call from my PCP (who is also a

diabetic on the pump) telling me that I have diabetes & that I needed

to come in and get educated....here I am, 2 yrs later and Im on

Humalog 75/25 injection pen.

Im a school teacher (out for the summer, YEAH!) and we have 2

wonderful sons...who keep me veryyyyyy active with baseball, archery

and scouts etc...my hubby is my childhood sweetheart and hes a

firefighter/paramedic.(and very educated in diabetes, thank gawd)

Recently I was having some problems with my counts being too high and

we had my insulin adjusted, so now Im doing pretty well. I stay at a

carb count of 165 per day and I can barely make that...but I do try

to reach it as much as I can.

Im not knowledeable to all the numbers and what they all mean...I

just take my insulin and make sure my counts are good...but Im hoping

to learn more about the disease itself.
