hand flapping

I didn't realize hand flapping and finger snapping is a symptom of

Aspergers. If that is the case, I think my neice has Asperger too the

more I think about it.

I have Asperger's and I use to always flap my hands, not I snap my

fingers.

I do it because I am anxious and waiting in frustation or excitment,

in a word, it is anticipation. I remember other kids use to make fun

of me, and adults for doing that. It is often accompmanded with a

bouncing or jumping up and down. Think of it like a pacing back and

forth in the room.

It is good for buning calories. But isn't socially appropiate.

I Know eaxactly what yo mean my son who is now 9 learned how to spell most dinosaurs before even learning to spell his nam (william)Jeff and Jodi <jjkgardenier@...> wrote: often puts his hands under his chin and flaps them. One day he said "GROWL! Look Mom I Tyronasaurus Rex!" He's so cute. =)
