My wife has a few nicknames for

me but none that I can repeat on

a family group!

Nowhere is the same as in books

and moves! There are some things

books and movies cannot capture.

How do you imagine the USA looks

to Africans who know it only

from books and movies? All that

shooting, all those cars and

buses exploding in the streets,

gangsters and bandits at every

corner? All that bad language,

crime, and drugs?

When the explorer Magellan was

asked which of the countries he

had visited was the most

remarkable, he is said to have

replied: " All lands are alike

in sin and in beauty " and that

is the way I found it, too.

That must be a strictly

US American thing because I have

never heard of that before. I

guess that is what comes of

having teenagers with more money

than they know what to do with!
