Guest guest
I think that 5HTP and CoQ10 in combination are good for anxious feelings. I believe that 5HTP modulates serotonin, and the CoQ10 is good for the vascular system and heart. I took them together because the CFS community was suggesting both at the time, and noticed that I felt better, a sense of ease. My chest is the target of my problems at times and this combination helps that feeling of doom that accompanies my illness at its worst. Often anxiety is the word one uses to describe poor/erratic blood flow, because we are not offered a good alternative term for that. The 5HTP could possibly help with anxiety. The bottle reads: " Griffonia simplicifolia is an African plant which is extracted to produce 5HTP, the intermediate metabolite between the amino acid L-tryptophan and serotonin. " I think some CFS studies recommend it, but not particularly for anxiety. I feel " doom " quite a bit. However, I don't have this feeling unless my other symptoms are bad, such as neurally mediated hypotension, dehydration, ear ringing, etc. Chemical exposures cause me to have symptom exacerbation. I have neurally mediated hypotension, which was dx at Hopkins and I think that is the cause of the chest symptoms upon sitting or standing for long periods, and the brain dysfunction that causes the NMH is probably due to xenobiotics. I don't see why mercury could not be the beginning of that process--brain dysfunction that causes NMH. I can discuss NMH if anyone wants to contact me directly because it is off topic. As far as Hopkins is concerned NMH is idiopathic which tells me it has something to do with toxins from either medical industry or chemical industry. I have reasons to suspect both.
