Hi Anne ;-)

Hi, I'm Anne and I'm new here. I am 46, married and live in New Mexico. I

have type 2 diabetes and was diagnosed in 1995 or 1996. I do need to lose a

lot of weight and need to start exercising. I was doing pretty good with

lowering my bs numbers but they have gone up again to the high 100's and the

highest

number in the past 2 weeks was about 270. I am on 30 mg of Glucotrol XL a

day...10 mg's in the morning and 20 at night. I've been checking out the group

site and I really like it here.

Hi Anne, welcome. This is a very helpful family, jump in, tell us about

yourself ;-) Interests, types of activities, exercise etc. I am Marilyn, from

northern California. I am mom to 6, grandma to almost 7 ;-) I have been a

diabetic for 4 years. Don't much like it, but would rather that than a lot of

other things out there. I am a collector, married to a collector. LOL I have

almost 800 cookie jars displayed, pain to dust, but they are so much fun just

to look at. Don (dh) collects Hawaiian memorabilia. Has a whole room

dedicated to it and it is like being transported back home for him. We have 1

dog,

a newfie named bear. 1 kitty named patches. They were both rescues. Our

life has been full with children, ours plus 45 foster children. We love to

camp,

enjoy the outdoors, watch wildlife. For ease of camping, and because Don is

disabled due to a severe back injury among other things, we leave a coach set

up, ready to use at thousand trails campground. We just jump in the car, stop

at a supermarket down there to pick up fresh, and relax when we get there.

Although we are 58, we have a 12 year old that is actually a grandchild we have

raised since birth. Her dad is my middle son. He is bipolar as was her

mother, and they started asking us before she was born to take her. We tried to

just help them, providing what she needed, but it became quite clear they were

unable to quickly. She is also ADHD and bipolar. A very loving child and I

believe we were directed by God to raise this child. We are both Christian and

experienced with hard cases, so here we are! Now you know all about us!
