Guest guest
The one thing I liked about Oprah was when the Hellers were at the grocery store with some of the women on CAD, they said one thing that struck me, " shop the walls of the stores, don't even worry about the aisles " Now I have a family so I have to shop the aisles, but that is very true!! Guest guest
Penny, I do the same thing!! Shop the " outside " I order most of my cleaning, laundry and personal care supplies and paper goods, trash bags and so on on-line, oh, and coffee, tuna, and canned meats too! - and I end up never having to up the aisles. I just shop the sides. The only thing I ever have to go " in the middle " for is spices, and the dollar store down the street has them much cheaper, so for the " basics " , I go there!! Lemme see... average week is some combination of: eggs, butter, cheeses, a quart of light cream, unless the heavy cream is on sale, frozen veggies - broccoli and cheese, cauliflower and cheese, string beans, bags of mixed veggies - usually a broccoli, cauliflower " something " (I forget), Italian green beans, pea pods, yellow squash Meats - anything, really, that's on sale - we had buy 1 get two free this week on keilbasa, so you know who came home with six, for the freezer! Chicken was 25¢ a pound last week, and I got two 10 lb. bags for 5 bucks!! Keep your eyes open, menus flexible! Hit the deli for some stuff, usually sliced turkey and roast beef, and some cheese, unless I got a lot of brick cheese in the dairy dept. Fish - whatever's on sale Produce - bags of salad greens, a couple of tomatoes, (I have a slice or two now and then), apples for my son, or a couple of oranges, check the fresh green beans, zucchini, yellow squash, broccoli, cauliflower, and green beans, get what's on sale That's about it... Guest guest
Hi ! My list basically looks the same as yours, with the added items of nuts and avocados. Isn't it great to have such a simple list! P.
Guest guest
, Pepperoni is good to have on hand for a quick snack, also string cheese, hotdogs (check the carb count...some are better than others), sausage, chicken wings, try canned chicken or salmon when you get sick of tuna, cold cuts (again check carb count). Hope this helps!
