Guest guest
, Please sit down with your mother and tell her what you have told us. Use " I feel " statements so that she does not feel defensive and attacked. Look in your community for diabetic education classes, stop smoking classes, etc, offer to go with her. After that, you can pray, and be supportive of her, but you can not choose for her. Consider couseling for yourself, or for her if she needs it, she may be feeling overwhlemed or depressed. Does your mother live with you? If so, pershaps you could do more of the shopping and cooling and help in that way. How long has it been since she had a good physical and labs? Can you go with her? Please let her know that no matter what choice she makes, you will not judge her, even if you do not agree with it.
