In my 10+ years of injecting insulin I have used a number of

insulins -- Humulin 70/30, NPH, R, Lantus, Humalog -- and found the

storage characteristics to be somewhat different for each. For

example, the need to be careful about temperature sensitivity and

related potency changes, in my experience, is quite high in Lantus

and somewhat high in Humalog. I would therefore be very careful

about drawing general conclusions about refrigerating (or not)

insulin.
