Guest guest
I know how you feel. I have been going round and round for years and it is hard to stick to anything because when you get side effects you just say, " Well maybe I should try something else. " Overall its seems that ALA is the most promising but you can also hurt yourself so that gives me great hesitation. I have, however, found something milder that is my staple now: sodium alginate, an extract of seaweed. It is natural with minimal side effects and gives energy. It was developed in Russian for radiation after the nuclear disaster there but also chelates metals. There is a great web site: www.modifilan.com. All you need is one more thing to look up! This is fairly cheap and low risk with good results, scientific studies. The president of the company will talk to you at length and then send more info not on the web. It binds mercury in the gut so at least should stop some of the recirculation created by ALA or other chelators. different opinions (was Re: Question for AndyRe;NDF > I am , and I couldn't agree with you more about > the confussion on heavy metal detox. You are correct-- there are many opinions. If you want to read a brief " statement " of mine on this, read the intro here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Autism-Mercury/files/Andy_dose_sched I think I said what I think about it pretty well in that intro..... So, um, how can I help? I can tell you what I think. Great, then you have another opinion. It is difficult that there are so many opinions and it is hard when one has limited time and energy and resources. But, somehow we all have to figure out which path we want to try. Or how to decide. Or something. What can I tell you that would be useful to you in this process? > > Don't want to sound annoyed but all you > > great thinkers need > > to get your heads together and agree or disagree on > > things, in saying > > that i know you are doing your best but I'm almost > > fed up with > > hearing 10 plus opinions on everything and my > > instinct is almost worn > > out. This is very normal IMO given the very real situation with EXTREMELY conflicting opinions. I have read Ray's website, I read the DAMS newsletter, I've read Mercola and Klinghardt, I have read the DAN! protocol, I have read Andy's book (some of it LOL), I have read Huggin's booklet on detox. They disagree WILDLY. Yep. But, um, they are not about to get together and drop all their ideas in the interest of " agreeing " . So, I think you will be forced to cope with them disagreeing. I am sorry if this is not helpful! all I know of to do (myself) in such a situation is to keep asking. I do understand being worn out! best wishes, Moria
Guest guest
I know how you feel. I recently tried my first found of ALA, 25mg every 3-4 hours. At first I felt spacy, and sometimes had small headaches, but otherwise felt ok. But when I stopped, I was very sick the next day. So this is scary to me. Is it dumping that mercury it is moving adn that is why you get sick at the end of a round? If so where is it dumping it? I think I will go back to NDF even though it is expensive. After the first few weeks I always felt good after taking NDF, not lousy. But it is possible the ALA gets better, or that it is worth the misery to get better, it is just scary when you don't know... There are both " on " and " off " days. Some people feel bad on and some feel bad off. There is a myriad of stuff you can do either way, to make this entire drama less dramatic. You probably have supplements on hand that will help with symptoms. List the supplements you have and I bet the entire group will tell you which to keep and which to throw out. If you have no testing, we can wing it. If you have few dollars we can reduce the supplements to a minimum. I understand that ALA by Twinlab is ok. I use it and it is in capsules so that you can dump some out if you feel the level is too high. Ask for some help with some specific questions.
