Yes, peanut butter is something you have to watch the fat on, and be

careful to get kinds with no sugar. I have it on bread every morning

tho, as it's high in protein. I get 'natural peanut butter', of which

I can find several brands in my Canadian grocery store. It's made

with just the nuts, no other agents. Except maybe salt in some

brands. Generally sugar is added to PB to keep the natural oil from

separating, so if you get natural, you have to stir the oil in or

pour most of it off. (The latter will help you get rid of part of the

fat.)

From what I have been reading about

peanut butter on the Internet in the

last two days, Melisma, sugar is added

to help stop the oil going rancid

in storage, especially after the jar

has been opened.

One recommendation I read was to

pour the oil off and replace it with

an oil lower in omega-6 oil, like

olive oil or macadamia nut oil if

the peanut butter is too stiff

without it.
