Guest guest
i found this book called *think like a pancreas* by dr. gary scheiner. it gives pretty detailed suggestions for calculating adjustments for basal as well as bolus insulin. am going batty. my thyroid replacement med was increased and my insulin decreased a month ago (which i've prob. said before). have yet to have two days in a row without highs and lows. although, increasing 1 unit back up again of bedtime lantus seems to have helped with the morning highs. now though, i'm getting afternoon lows and rebounds. anybody do split doses of lantus? i'm wondering if i should change my timing or decrease morning dose by 1 unit. i take two shots about 11 hours apart. nurse educator ok'd a range of 3 units total to test out. rach
