Guest guest
Hi my name is Marie,I am a 37 year old SAHM to 3.My oldest is 8 and he was diagnosed at the age of 4.Actual date is July 7th 2000 and his blood sugar was 1197.To say the least we are some very lucky people to my baby here with us.He has a 6 yr old sister named Raelene and a 4 yr old brother named Jakob. My husband is named Joe and we try to deal with all this together. I should be a pro at this but right now is fighting me on EVERYTHING,LOL....I am not sure if it is his age or just that he is tired of being diabetic but either way he is so out of control on his high sugar's.Today has been better but let's face it 1 day out of month's is not good. I wish I could understand everything better to help him better and wish I could do it right.I would love any advice and any help. Thanks for the invitation!!! Adults can figure it out, eventually, but how does a child reach understanding, especially when he is the only one in a family afflicted. I will share my best tip with you, contact HealthyExchanges, Jo Lund has a book dedicated to kids. Some are a little high on carbs, some are just right. They all are special because not just the kids will enjoy the fun things, you all will. Kids need to have fun, even at mealtimes. her book helps you, I have most of them and would not trade them. Check out the library, it is a good source for them, too. Hugs, Marilyn (contact me if I can help)
