Guest guest
As the name of the group suggesests this group is for all diabetic internationally. I was going thru the recipe's and most have ingredients which are not internationally available, me being a pakistani could probably get hold of the ingredients after research. Would nt it be better if the recipe's have common ingrecdients rather then brand names. I am fond of eating and my sugar is always out of control. I hope I will benfit from joining this group Good Luck

Been a long haul lately. Getting used to this Hospice thing has been interesting. I have had to fend for myself even with the doctor. I have a nurse that has only been with Hospice for 4 months and I don't think she got enough orientation. She counts my meds, takes my vitals twice because she forgets them and asks the same questions over and over. Then when my naptime is 2-5 is when she comes and doesn't respect I need my rest and stays for an hour and 1/2 or more typing in her computer notes and I can't rest. My doctors office called ME 3 times this week instead of her to ask what I was taking, what meds I needed and the changes to make because they were fed up with her and she left them confused!!! (thank God I worked in Hospital for 30yrs!) I started on MS Contin 30mg sustained release yesterday and and hour after got a splitting headache. No one has called me back yet-and they were supposed to call and check on me today! Then it has been since the week afer ML, so about a month I think I signed up for Hospice and they were supposed to get meals on wheels for me. No one ever called so I signed up for that myself also in five minutes!!! If I was well I should work for Hospice myself-geez......... > > Anyway I just wanted to check in- haven't been on in a while to catch up on postings-seems a lot of new people though. Too bad we all are going thru this. I wish everyone especially CARO/MARGARET > the best of luck with all their issues lately and of course my prayers are with everyone. > ML- glad I had the chance to talk with you tonight-you sound wonderful! Keep up the good work! > > Diane NY 51 PF EVERYONE HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK-SPRING IS ALMOST HERE! (oops sent the wrong combination of email letters the 1st time-darn meds!) Guest guest
Diane...well I'm sure you don't have to told that with your 30 yrs of experience you know what should be happening and NOT happening. I'm hoping you have already been on the phone to your dr and hospice and requested another hospice nurse and talked to your dr's nurse about the ridiculous/unprofessional calls coming from his office as well. I worked hospice many many years ago and I know too that training is emphatic about what NOT to do. Gee I'm sorry Diane. Being the pt is hard enough w/o having to manage your own bedside care. One thing we learn here early on is to be our own best advocate. With your experience you know who to ask for and how to get your needs meant. Go for it girl. I wish I were not allergic to MS Contin, it worked so well for me. Hope your headache is not an allergy. Do keep us posted, I'll watch for your updates. I'm sorry Diane, I forget. Do you have family close by for support? Can they take care of these annoying things for you? Hugs. MamaSher; 70, IPF 3-06, OR. NasturtiumsDon't fret about tomorrow, God is already there!
