Guest guest Posted December 11, 1998 Report Share Posted December 11, 1998 We lost our dear mother to this disease , yesterday, Dec.10,98, at 8:44 a.m. We are so sad, and still very confused, why our mother was chosen by God to aquire this horrible disease. We donated her brain to Mass. General Hospital,Boston Mass.; and the autopsy is being performed this morning. It truely is a blessing when your loved one is finally realeased from this horrible disease. It sounds like you were there for your Mom every step of the way. Which as all of us who have been there knows it takes a tremendous amount of strength. So your one fight is now over and after you rest and regain your strength,there is another battle waiting to be fought if you choose to join us. The struggle to make this a real disease in the eyes of the public is going to be long and hard and getting funding for research will be even harder. If you choose not to continue on with us and just try to put this all out of your mind as best you can no one will blame you. But just know our fight will go on so that none of our loved ones deaths will be in vain. We are all with you both in spirit and know you can call on any of us for understanding at any time. WHAT A HORRIBLE THING TO DIE FROM! I'm from New England and know of at least 6 cases of CJD in RI alone I was also told that this disease was very rear, the only rear thing about it is that it shows its rear head and attacks our loved one.
