Guest guest
Hello everyone, Well, I would first like to say " THANK YOU " , for all of the prayers and emails of encouragement over the past week. It helped me and my family through a very hard time. It's not over yet, but I can feel the benefits of the prayers. God is watching over my little guy. We are back from Pittsburgh. When we first spoke with the GI he said considering all that we had done to make Spencer gain weight they were going to put in a Central line no matter what the Endoscopy/Coloscopy results were. We were pleased with him saying that because this is what we felt he needed for a long time. Well, they took him into the OR and biopsied and looked everywhere. RESULTS: Huge ulcer in his stomach ( Biopsies show NO Eosinophils anywhere. Yes the prednisone is working and we are at a reasonable dosage to keep him on long term. Finally at 12 cc's every other day. For the Ulcer we had to put in a J-tube so that the stomach can heal. We are now feeding at 24 hours a day at 40 cc's an hour. This is probably enough to just keep him hydrated and maintain (maybe loose a little). Well, now this is far as our GI wanted to go since he found the ulcer and had to put in the j-tube. He wanted to give that a little time before going any further and he is basically gone from Pittsburgh from now on. He had a conference to go to and then two weeks rotation on the floor seeing no clinic patients and then moving to Ohio and not practicing lic until September.) So now we are dealing with our Pediatrician and possible GI (Who we have seen before) in Michigan to get a line placed in him before we take off to Utah for 6 weeks and we are leaving in less than two weeks. So since Spencer biopsies were free of eos's and he was having terrible bowel problems and retching and not being able to gain weight, i.e. not tolerating any type of concentration of formula increase in rate, we now know that his CIP must be worse than previously thought. Testing for this will be done once we are in Cincinnati. Now on to me. I had surgery on Thursday and happy to say that they found something. There were lot's of adhesions connecting my uterus, ovaries and stomach together. They cut all those out and that was the cause for the extreme pain. I am recovering well and feel pretty normal today. Just on Motrin for the pain right now. So I guess there are some bad and some good things that came out of this last episode, but I think that we are headed in the right direction.
