They did more to get rid of my son's sensory problems than anything else. Nell
Guest guest
Yes, we started them this summer. He was GFCF for 2 years and he is on a regular diet now b/c of the enzymes. I did this change gradually to make sure he could handle it. He did fine until we went on vacation and, because of all the transitions and schedule changes, I skipped 2 rounds of chelation. I think he is better now that we have resumed the chelation schedule the last 2 weeks, but he still has problems and school is about to begin...there are just always so many variables! Dana suggested yeast. I will treat with Oil of Oregano and see if that helps. I'm a newbie at this yeast thing, he's never had it before that I could determine. Thanks everyone. Kim BTW, the enzymes I use are Z Prime and Peptidase. Guest guest
I would also suggest watching the timing of his supplements--ex. if he seems OK in the morning, and then you give him " something " and then he seems to be having the sensory issues after that, then suspect those things that you are giving. I would also consider giving some taurine if you have any... perhaps some b-vitamins and minerals for the time being. We just had an episode of auditory issues flaring up this past week too! B vitamins didn't seem to have a big effect, but did help a little... I then gave extra minerals and some taurine and then that seemed to help more. Also, perhaps stop the probiotics you are using for a few days and see if that helps... for Ethan, he was getting worse the more probio's I was giving him, and he had been on these probio's for about a year and had never seemed to react badly to them, but all of a sudden, it was like it was " enough " and to continue to give them made his gut more imbalanced apparently. And, perhaps consider a trial of stopping the enzymes if you try these other things suggested by others and nothing seems to be working. Stop the enzymes for a while and see if he calms down. Guest guest
You have done 30 rounds without yeast? wow! you are lucky. My son covers his ears when he has yeast. Since you saw no yeast before, maybe it is more food related. I tried introducing " forbiden " food with the Houston enzymes and it seems to work fine at first but then the hyperactivity and sillyness come slowly back (sometimes after a month or two) and then go away a few days after stopping the offending food. > > We are currently on round 30 of chelating with ALA/DMSA, Andy's > > protocal.
