I do know what you mean. When I was denied to go out of network the first

time I asked my husband what I should do and he reminded me that his benefit

choices seem to be getting worse every year. >>

Jackie,

I know what your husband says is true for me also. Every year for the last 5

years my benefit package is costing more and giving less. I work for the

health care profession and gone are the professional courtesies that used to

wave our CO-pays and deductibles. I'm afraid what next years policy will

cover. Maybe WLS will be excluded totally! I'm going to ask the DR about his

experiences and let him know about my diabetes. Between my diabetes and high

blood pressure I take 6 pills a day. I will be soo glad to replace them with

vitamins!LOL Take care Jackie.

Jackie,

The time is coming quickly. Best of luck. I'm rooting for you. I hope you

have had an opportunity to go to the outlets and look at all the great

things you will soon be able to try on. I loved the story the other day of

someone shopping at their house by going through their small sizes. But it

would still be wonderful to know you could " fit " into the great things in

all those stores. I'll be thinking about you.

Hi Darlene:

No have not been to the outlets. I get enough of looking at the " normal "

sized clothes when my sister comes down and she drags me through the outlets.

The only outlet stores I go into these days are Christmas Tree Hill and

Soccermania. But the times they are a changin'. I have been browsing

through the JC Penney catalog and I even went as far as to order a 's

Secret catalog. I am hoping that one day I will be able to order something

from that one.

Take care,

<< I have a question for all who have went before me. Just how nervous did

you

get the week preceding the surgery? >>

Jackie,

I was fine until the Friday before we left for Durham (1 week). That night

while I waited for time to get my hubby at the airport I started thinking of

all the negative things that could happen. My biggest fear was being put

under and not coming out of the anesth. I really started freaking out.

So.....

I wrote and email to one of our list-buddies and asked her to give me a

virtual slap in the face and tel me to take a chill pill. She did and I felt

much better. Then...when my hubby's plane got in (midnight), we talked for

several hours...correction, I talked for several hours. I verbalized all my

fears and told him what my wishes were just in case and after doing that I

was at peace. I prayed that night and handed over my surgery to God and from

that point on I was calm. So calm it was a little weird to me lol.

I've read on this list that Dr. R. says that we should voice our fears to

someone else. Somehow saying them out loud helps to face them. I know it

did for me.

That last week all I could do is SMILE, SMILE, SMILE! I was so excited! And

when I got to clinic and actually met all my Littermates it was like we were

at a family reunion! It was really awesome.

Long story short...verbalize your fears and give it up to God. Worrying

won't do you any good because it's in His hands anyway. Let Him have it and

enjoy the ride!

Hope this helps!

What wise and wonderful advice. You and many other post-ops are right, I

need to stop worrying and put this in God's hands. If I start sending nutty

posts I am going to count on you for the virtual slap. Okay?

Thank you!

BTW how is the new cough syrup working for ? Any better?

Thanks Jackie!! I'm glad someone is agreeing with me for once! My

fingers get really tired typing in a defensive mode all the time! lol

*grin*

I am sorry for your loss. I, like you, was told my B12 level was

normal. A year later when I went to get a copy of my lab work, my B12

level (according to their lab results normal was 180-911) my level

was 181!! I was just ONE POINT away from being panic/critical value

low!! I was astounded! The nurse OBVIOUSLY just glanced down the

middle where it is flagged ABNORMAL and since it was actually NORMAL,

it didn't flag it to her attention. I thank God I was taking my other

vitamins regularly though and I delivered a beautiful and healthy

baby boy!!

It is late for me, I am exhausted right now, the tingling in my foot is

driving me nutty so I will go to bed and quit focusing on it. I have decided to

tests next week. My mountains have a special way of putting things into

perspective for me.

I just wanted to say thanks for having me, this place has done more for me in

one day then a month and a half of worrying has done.

Hi Jackie, if the drs feel it is diabetic neuropathy, ask for some

amytriptlyne for that foot. Hugs, Marilyn
