Guest guest
jean... in looking at your stats i noticed something similar to mine, and it reminded me of something a pretty famous " diet " doctor told me a few years ago.. and i think its very true... he said that a person could reasonablely expect to lose the first 15% or so of their body weight fairly easily before plateauing... and thats where your body starts really fighting you and you have to persist and hang in for the long long term after that...and eventually you'll swoop past it) i was just thinking that maybe thats why those 160s are so hard for all of us that started in the just around or under 200 pound place. what do you guys think?? ( oh and that diet doctor was a dr elliot abranval.. a real pill pusher who later wrote some book, but he may have been right on in the plateau issue.) wendie( plateauing at week i-dont-know-what at 161)

Guest guest
I hope I am not overstepping my bounds, but I hate exercise as much at the next person...sometimes more!!! But I have found that (if you have one) going to an indoor swimming pool and doing laps is a great way of excercise and some people say that it is the best excercise. Just a thought since I don't think that the bonespurs would impeed swimming. from Texas _Oates@... Re: i just remembered something important Thanks , I am getting frustrated. I have not been cheating. I gave up my salad and veggies. Just meat eggs cheese and cream. I still don't budge. I know exercise would help but I can only do certain things. My feet have bonespurs or something and they limit me. I do crunches and basic exercises of the muscles. This has to work. There is nothing left to try. If I can only eat what I am and maintain it would be miserable. Plus I am falling apart. Hot flashes, very emotional and no energy. ...I hope something gives soon. I've been in this spot for about 6 weeks now.....Jean Big and Beutiful is a state of mind, Never let anyone tell you different.
Guest guest
Hi Jean, Hang in there. Sounds like your in a tough spot. I can only do limited exercise also. But I think even a little is better than none. I do 100 sit ups and 50 reverse sit ups everyday. Helps me feel better. Can't do walking but I do try to get out and roll at least once a day. I know you can do it. Take care Gus 250/218/165 At 11:13 AM 10/11/99 -0700, you wrote: > > >Thanks , I am getting frustrated. I have not been cheating. I gave up >my salad and veggies. Guest guest
Jean -- How much water are you drinking? i'm a firm believer that you MUST DRINK AT LEAST 8-10 glasses of water a day in order to lose! Now some just dont agree with me, but when i dont drink as much as I should, i notice a stall or short plateau... if i drink ALOT of water for a few dayss... i'll lose a pound! TRY THIS for a couple of days.. Use a straw if needed. Mollie
Guest guest
Jean - can you get out and walk for even 5 minutes.. even just around the house? Fresh air will do wonders! What about getting a baby monitor to take with you in case he needs you.. it has a pretty far reception.. It really sounds as if you need some time for YOU! And you deserve it! Another great idea (which i have) is a recumbent exercise bike. Recumbent (if someone doesnt know) is the type where your feet are out in front of you, you almost recline a bit. Its easy on your joints, very comfortable. I bought my used for $100, but i guess Sears has them for around $300. Mollie

Guest guest
Mollie, your ideas are great too. I think I will try walking in short spurts. I had exercise bikes in the past and didn't stick with it, or with the trampoline and I had another machine that you sit on and pull with your arms and push with your feet....I forget the name of it. It hurt my neck. I had a treadmill and loved it.....it broke that was 5 years ago. Then I started doing aerobics and my feet started acting up. I can't walk in the mornings. It got better when I lost 30 pounds . Then all of a sudden I started hurting again. I have doctor diagnosed fibromyalgia. Everything started hurting. So, I started taking vitamins. Time will tell. I can't give up tho...I was edging over 200+ pounds. I'm 5'4 " .....Thanks again....JEan

I get lazy at times about drinking my water, and that is when the scale stops. A couple of days of drinking lots and lots of water gets it moving again.
