Guest guest
As you may know, age 12, EE, has been weaning off his flovent and taking cromolin for his EE. His symptoms have come back. Some more strong than befoe we started flovent. has had a stuffy nose since last Wed., he has no other cold symptoms. He has tested allergic to our cats and guinea pigs, but we have had them for years and they have never bothered him before. I am wondering if 's increase in waking in te morning with burning in his throat is due to EE and reducing the floven, or from the stuffy nose. The burning doesn't last long usually. We have restricted soy oil again, but that dosen't seem to make a difference. I put a call in to his GI last Friday, but missed him so we expect he will call tommrow. He did say last week that he doesn't want to stay on the floven, but Steph has said that the kids need to stay on the flovent. Do you all think this stuffy nose is allergy related? Could it be a cold? Could it be the cause of his increase in symptoms, or could his increase in symptoms ( which came first) be causing his very stuffy nose? And last, How many of you have kids that have lost weight and can't eat enough to gain it back? Guest guest
cathy- I'm sorry to hear ';s symptoms have returned and you know that I am not all all surprised. I still can't imagine what the doc was thinking trying to replace Flovent with CROMOLYN for EE. Doesnt he just have one kidney? The thing that worries me here is that he could end up actually needing prednisone to clear everything up and that is so much worse than Flovent. We do have the symptom of stuffy nose added to our worse times with EE. As a matter of fact, MY 12/yo is headed for a prednisone month because of this. I don't see why they need to be avoided now. It's crazy mesuring his food, trying to get him to eat more, putting cream in his milk, all this, when if he could eat like regular kids, he would be at a normal weight like he was last year. What does the stuffy nose indicate? will see his GI in two weeks. He is very familiar with EE and food alergies. He is very conservative, but when I talked to him Mon. he sounded concerned and wanted to see him within a month.
