Guest guest
<< My opinion? If we can get used to mashed cauliflower instead of mashed potatoes, tofu is a snap!! LOL >> And an added bonus is that since it is soy based it contains natural estrogen! I just find that I waste it rather than use it. I wish I could get into the routine of adding tofu and flax seed meal to something to also combat my hormone problems. That is why I take the soy isoflavins, for the plant estrogen. I wonder if it could be added to a shake like ricotta? Teena

Guest guest
Isn't tofu just soy protien?? I've only had it in japanese soup and the texture bothered me. But it takes on the flavor of what it is cooked with so the taste should be good. Guest guest
Penny - Tofu is actually pretty good, if you cook it right. You don't eat it alone, but if you fry it, chop it small and add it to sauces etc, it's a great substitute for rice, noodles, or potatoes - just don't eat it alone as a " side dish " - I love it as part of stir fry, for instance, chopped small and fried with ginger, garlic and soy sauce, toss in some chicken or beef and fry it all up, then toss in a handful of veggies, and you're done! It's great! You can put it in soups too, instead of noodles, or stew, instead of potatoes. It's a little different in texture, but I get the " firm " tofu, so it's not too, too different. My opinion? If we can get used to mashed cauliflower instead of mashed potatoes, tofu is a snap!! I just used it in my chicken soup instead of noodles. It was yummy. The tofu doesn't have much of a taste, but it's a great low carb filler. I used it in meatloaf a few times. It keeps it moist.
