, if you smash up banana and mix it with peanut butter you have a food

that's very delicious. I live in the peanut capital of the world, Dothan,

Alabama. I don't eat banana and peanut butter sandwiches any more because I

want

to lose weight but I remember that they are very delicious. Peanut butter

and sugar free jelly is good and I eat that sometimes. A peanut butter sandwich

is delicious with nothing else in it. I also really like boiled peanuts but

don't eat them now unless I get very rebellious because they are boiled with

lots of salt and I have high blood pressure. Parched peanuts are also very

good. There is no butter in peanut butter. Lota

Hi, ! That was probably during

the " occupation " when the US military

brought in anything they wanted.

Now all that is over and Germany

is bound by European Union regulations.

The EU does not allow the import of

US peanut butter because it fails to

meet their safety standards. It was

once popular in the Czech Republic,

I just read, but now they are in the

EU too, they can no longer import US

type peanut butter.

The " Jif " company are apparently not

prepared to change their manufacturing

methods to meet the stricter EU safety

regulations since they sell 95-98% of

their stuff in the US.

" Skippy " is owned by a Dutch company

(Unilever) and they market a US

version and a EU version - the EU

version costs 12% import tax extra.

A few hours ago, I didn't know a thing

about peanut butter but the Internet

has corrected that information

deficiency!

It might be an acquired taste, Lota

- might even take years!

I will have a look around to see

if I can find some EU peanut butter

and give it a try.

How much peanut butter would you

use for a 4 oz banana (106 kcal

(without the skin)?

If I was willing to double the

calories to 212 (half a meal for

me), I could afford to use about

half an oz of peanut butter with

it. Does that sound about right,

Lota? It is about one level table-

spoonfull, I believe.
