Guest guest
Hi Andy, I have two children with autism (3 and 5). My kids' neurologist recently started them on a cocktail medicine containing L-Carnitine, Co-Q10, Vit-C & E, ALA, for possible mitochondrial disorders. The lipoic acid ingredient is 15 mg/kg/d. (divided 3 times/d). My sons are taking the cocktail medicine 3 times per day without any off days. It took me 1.5 month to get my younger son to the therapeutic dose, and it's been over 2 months my older son is still on 30%. He gets hyper if I go a bit faster (he received many mercury-containing vaccines in the first 2 years, my younger son did not). Both of them now drink a lot of more liquid than before, and urinate a lot as well. I wonder if that is what the chelation is doing to their bodies. Do you think I should be concerned of the continuous ALA to my kids, the frequency of only 3 times/day, and the high dosage levels (240 mg/day for 3-year old, and 342 mg/day for 5-year old)? (My 5-year old has mercury poisoning (and AL) based on the counting rules) Thanks.
