Guest guest
> Has anyone ever tried a product called Aqua Flora for getting rid of a yeast infection? This garlic stuff isn't settling well with me. for a vaginal yeast infection (which may or may not be what you are trying to get rid of), boric acid works VERY VERY well. Buy a bottle of the posder (boric acid), from band-aid aisle at the drugstore, and put it in capsules. One or two capsules 2 or 3 times a day. Should start to turn around in a couple of days with much remission in 4 or 5 days. very cheap, very effective. a web search will find some info on this method as well. best wishes, Moria
Guest guest
Not vaginal, system wide. Doctor diagnosed and wants me eating yogurt and taking garlic tablets, neither of which I can get down. Thought I'd try some things on my own before going back to him for another solution. About to purchase something called Yeast Busters online (still thinking on that one), and just picked up some fresh garlic. > for a vaginal yeast infection (which may or may not be what you are trying to get rid of), boric acid works VERY VERY well. Caprylic acid works for me (together with probiotics & psyllium they're essential, I'm told). Rooibos tea and sage tea help a lot, as does using (fresh) rosemary, thyme, sage and bayleaf in food (not necessarily at the same time) and (unheated) olive oil (as a salad dressing, for example). Cranberry juice might help too, simply because of acidity. Cutting out sugar (and caffeine and artificial sweeteners) in your diet, and going easy on simple carbohydrates (like white flour, bread, pasta etc.) also helps. Chromium picolinate helps against sugar cravings. Cheers,

Guest guest
Moria, how are the capules used? Not orally, right? Just want to be clear. Guest guest
I'd been a low-carber for years until just a year ago when the mercury symptoms exploded and my life hasn't been the same. Until I can swallow again my diet will have to include dairy products which is the worst thing you can consume with a yeast infection. > The only thing that helped me when I had system wide problem was the diet. Guest guest
raw dairy seems to work well for alot of people. lots of folks on the live-food list with mercury issues and eating heartily raw milk, raw cream, raw honey. Guest guest
I'm having to use alot of sour cream to get food down, and that's after all my food has been put through 2 food processors until it's almost a paste. The sour cream makes a pudding consistencey that I can swallow. I've tried yogurt, plain and flavored and it doesn't agree with me. I'm having new dentures made that will be ready in another month or so and after I've become accustomed to them, things may start to improve. < raw dairy seems to work well for alot of people. lots of folks on the live-food list with mercury issues and eating heartily raw milk, raw cream, raw honey. Buy almond, rice, or soy milk unflavored (to keep sugar low).........and use pure soy protein powder or a protein powder of your choice. Add any supplements such as caprycin or yeast fighting stuff plus the good gut flora stuff. You can flavor with vanilla, or peppermint or coconut oils.........there is a vanilla that has no sugar which is pure vanilla. There are sweetners such as stevia which have no sugar but only require small amounts. You can make shakes that have minimal carbohydrates and sugar but packed full of protein and supplements which you can drink through a straw. I always add ice and make it like a slushy.........it feels good on a sore throat. why can't you swallow if this is not a too personal question? claire

Something has deadened the nerves at the back of my mouth and down my throat. Probably the mercury poisoning. That caused a series of nasty choking spells that started a couple of years ago, so I then developed a fear of choking to death. I'm seeing great improvements from the DMPS treatments I'm receiving except with the swallowing problem, so I'm scheduled to see a hypnotherapist next month. There is also a kind of mild stroke that can cause a problem with only the swallowing reflex. I can't remember the name of it, and it's impossible to test for it after-the-fact. On a brighter note ... I can wear a full upper denture without the gag reflex kicking in. LOL

Of course, do this on a full stomach. Raw garlic is cheaper and better.

The tongue presses against the teeth and moves them like an orthodontic applicance, but to unnatural positions. This creates irregularities in the bite relationship and leads to grinding and clenching and the Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction Syndrome. Few dentists know how to deal with the problem. The abnormal swallow is all too common. Our book, Healthy Teeth for KIDS, published by Kensington, has a chapter that explains how it forms....and how it can be corrected. I strongly suggest you get it at your bookstore or Amizon.com . Bev, my wife, was a Myofunctional Therapist in our practice before we retired. She helped people to learn how to swallow correctly - and we had great results. If you would like to have a referral to someone to help you, a Myofunctional Therapist, let us know. The abnormal swallow is actually an abnormal neuro-muscular pattern of the tongue. It results in many dental problems, including premature loss of teeth...and then the complete inability to tolerate dentures. Guest guest
I've been working with 2 different Myofunctional Therapists for over a year, with no improvement. One is sure I've had a stroke and one believes a *suddenly appearing* case of Tongue Thrust is to blame. I'm working with my doctor on this not my dentist. My dentist was right upfront about not having any idea what might be causing the throat and swallowing problems. My doctor has seen this symptom before with cases of mercury and cadmium poisoning, and the problem has either eased significantly or completely disappeared after a full course of treatment. The reason I'm scheduled to see a hypnotherapist is because my mind is causing part of the problem. Thanks Jerry :) > > 74% of orthdontic cases result from the abnormal swallow. Guest guest
If you have system wide yeast, though, then you'll have to do more than cut out bread. You'll have to cut out the sources that feed the yeast b/c already the 'bad' yeasts have killed most of the 'good' yeasts so there are not enough of the 'good' yeasts to fight them off. The mercury 'feeds' the bad yeasts so that source is the most difficult to rid. However, you can cut off the other sources of feeding by eliminating the following sources: *all yeast foods *sugar foods, even honey, organic sugars, etc. *anything that has " trose " on the label such as dextrose, etc. (these are sugars) *all vinegered foods like pickles, condiments, salad food dressings *all dairy *all startch vegetables (corn, beets, peas, etc) they turn to sugar too fast *all white flour products --they turn to sugar too fast *white rice--turns to sugar too fast...use brown rice instead *No peanuts or nuts..they produce molds easily *No melon fruits, oranges, bananas...mold producing, turn to sugar too fast Get the idea? You can use other products instead, such as soy milk, rice milk, soy butter, etc instead of milk products. It does take creativity to find substitutions, but it can be done. You don't crave the sugar after 2 weeks. Promise. Supplements you need and which will help: Vitamin C 1000mg 2 pills at a.m. and p.m., a multidophilus lactic flora (bulgaricus, acidophilus, bificum combination but make sure it has no dairy and it is better that it is refrigerated) 2 pills at a.m. and supper time AND if you can get a prescription for Nystatin in PILL form that would be great b/c it will really help to clean out the vital organs. Garlic is wonderful, but it is difficult to get down unless you can get it in capsules, dried, and deorderized. I take it with a soy protien shake made with rice milk. It is thick and makes it go down well b/c the shake coats my stomach well. I hope this helps. I have lived with systematic yeast for years and it's so second hand that it's pathetic. I take many more supplements than the three I have mentioned. But those are the top three. Guest guest
Hi I have been doing the right diet and supplements for well over 13 months plus taking probiotics and special supplements to get rid of the yeast. However I still have a daily discharge which I am thoroughly fed up with. There is no pain or irritation, just a discharge. My last filling was removed last September and I have been chelating ALA 50 mg every 3 hours 3 days a week and it does seem to have made this discharge worse. Do I need medication from the doctor as I have been unsuccessful in treating it naturally. Pam

Guest guest
Personally I would get some medication if the discharge is there Pam. Wouldn't hurt getting it checked out anyway. Guest guest
OMG! LOL....I cannot imagine this! Bless you! I think I'll stick to my soy shake. It's much nicer. I'm sure raw garic is cheaper and better. But first of all I'm not suppose to have any juice and I can't imagine chomping on it raw or sprinkling raw garlic on what I can eat at the moment. I'm glad it works for you, though. To each his own in this battle. But I do thank you for sharing. Guest guest
Pam, If the discharge is clear, unscented and slippery it could be mucous (instead of yeast-related) created from a histamine response to foods or other allergens to which you react. Guest guest
Hi Pam, From you later comments on this discharge, I really don't have a sense that it is yeast. I'm not sure. Yeast generally itches like crazy. best, Moria p.s. I do have a great recommendation for treating vaginal yeast, let me know if you want me to post about it. > I have been doing the right diet and supplements for well over 13 > months plus taking probiotics and special supplements to get rid of > the yeast.
