Yea, my doctor said he didnt like this one, but nothing was said about why

not to use lantus/humalog, maybe it was that my sugars and a1c's at the time

were ok, but this rollercoaster is making me ill, the highs make me as sick as

the lows. Since last week ive written a notecard for each day with exaclty what

I eat, when and why my sugars are doing so I can take it to the doctor with me

to give a clearer picture.

And being a college student with a small child Im really in need of something

along those lines, sometimes it is really ahrd to stop and eat and I have to

wait a half hour or so.

I was in the same boat you are when I was first diagnosed. I was on Regular

and NPH which meant waiting 30 min. before eating. what a pain especially in

restaurants or eating out at friends houses.

Also, I either had to take so much I was constantly playing catch up or I

would be high. I had really poor control on it. I am on Lantus and Humalog now

which makes it so easy. I eat when I want, can skip meals here and there. It

is so much easier.

I have a vague recollection (possibly wrong) of being told they like to start

people out on these more old fashioned types of treatment. I am not sure why.

It is something worth asking your doctor about.

All the Best,

WOW I really reallly cant thank you enough, i was looking for exactly this

kind of info and couldnt find it, so the Lantus Humalog combo, Lantus has no

peaks? And then I take the Humalog to cover for a meal? If that is the case it

would be a million times better because being a mommy and college student my

eating scheduals arent always regular, i try but my life just isnt perfect by

the

clock

Thats what i was wanting to do. I talked about it once but my sugars were

doing great and my a1c was good, but now this month things are not going so

well.
