Kudos to you Becky! I wish I could be there in Branson....I honestly

feel the more input we give the public about CMT the more we will get

back and this can do nothing but benefit us all especially our young

ones with CMT which I feel we have a responsiblilty to see that all

aspects of life can be made easier for them than what is has been for us

older folks.......well guys I am only 46 but you know what I mean..LOL!!

Hi all. My son went to the new nuero today. She wants to put him on

nueontin. Can you give me some info on this. Also, she set him up

appointments for EKG, electrocardiogram, BAER, EEG (iknow what this is).

What kinds of tests are they, and what should I/we expect. I have also

heard you guys talk about some tests that are painful, are any of these

them?

Hi, Amy--

The EKG is the electrocardiogram

The EEG is an electroencyphelogram

They measure neuro-transmitter activity in the

heart (EKG) and brain (EEG). I always

thought BAER was an asprin :) Hope someone

else knows. Did you try doing a search on it

with yahoo?

Personally i dont think I would want to be educated by anyone with this

attitude. It may vary by state, but check with a Mercy hospital if you have one

(catholic sisters of mercy), I have had a lot of good luck with them regarding

the no insurance issue that I have, they are very helpful. I took my classes at

the other catholic hospital in town and they are letting me pay it out at a

very resonable rate (50/month)

That's terrible! Are they the only agency in your area offering the

classes?

Re: [alldiabeticinternational] Digest Number 204

On classes:

Thanks for the suggestions. I wish that were true, but to qoute one

class administrator, " We admit only those with coverage. The insurance

companies and government pay our fee. We don't have to be bothered with

people that don't have coverage. "

Yes. They were referred by ADA.

I checked with Univ. of AZ., since I am in graduate program. They

offer a ten class program to students at the same rate ($75/class)

but require Student Health Insurance ($250 for June/July summer

school) and Student Health Dr. referral ($50 office visit copay). At

$1050 I figured I could educate myself through the Internet.
