Honestly i keep trying. Anyone know if rye is ok to use? Im just forgoing

bread right now cause I hate the wheat, or being bad and occasionally eating

white with a sandwich. Whats the whole issue, is it that wheat is just better

for

you, or that white is actually harmful?

Rye is very good.

When they refine wheat to change it from whole wheat to white, they take

out much of the nutrition; they then add vitamins and minerals back to

make it " enriched white " , but they can never duplicate what was there

naturally. Also, the refining process takes out the fiber. As fiber is

not absorbed by the bloodstream but passes on through the digestive

system, it does not raise the BS the way other carbohydrates do. Rye

has even more fiber than whole wheat, especially if you get the Jewish

style rye with caraway seeds. (There is a chemical in caraway seeds that

inhibits the formation of intestinal gas; that is why one traditionally

cooks cabbage with caraway seeds.)

Your Dietitian is more lenient than mine is...lol, she told me 45-60 per

meal, and to really keep it at 45, saving the extra 15 for a snack... lol,

I know about that National Something...according to them I am suppose to

weigh about 105 pounds, but at anything less than 135 I look like a

junkie... thanks but no thanks... I am shooting for 145 and being happy.. I

decided on the diet just a couple of weeks ago, I had bought a pair of panty

hose and was trying to get into them at work in one of the dressing rooms,

and because of the belly I had a time of it, and almost fell off the chair,

I decided then it was time...

I've added the 95 pounds of extra me over the course of 11 years...so I am

not going to sweat about getting this off in a hurry...I just want to get it

off, promised myself a new wardrobe when I can get into a size 14 and not

look like I had to use pam and a shoe horn..

Hi, I don't believe that White Bread is considered harmful, it is just that

it contains a lot of carbs, if you figure in the carbs into your meal count,

then you can get by with having that sandwich, I have never paid attention

to the carb count on rye, will have to check it out...

I once went to a policeman friend of mine and asked him to scan a photograph of

me into his computer; he had a program that would alter photographs-- " What would

he look like with a beard? What would she look like with a different hairstyle?

This picture was taken 20 years ago; what does he look like now? " ---and I asked

him to show me what I would look like if I were at the 'ideal' weight for my

height according to the tables.

The results made me look as though I had been in a concentration camp, or

through chemotherapy, or like a terminal AIDS patient.

Did you know that according to the tables Cloony, Tom Cruise, Russel

Crowe, Arnold Schwartzenegger, and Sylvester Stallone are all considered

'obese'?

Also Will is considered obeses and he is FAR from it as well as the

ones you mentioned. I am not my " ideal " weight per the weight chart, I go more

off the idea of " am I in shape " and " do my clothes fit right " . I think people

need to go more off the mirror and less of the scale.
