Guest guest
Hi All! I just joined the Atkins Way Of Life group, so I thought I would take a minute to introduce myself. I'm , and back in November of 1998, I started on Atkins as a birthday present for myself. All together, I lost 10 lbs, felt great, clothes felt great, loved the food, but alas, I didn't the scale move anymore after the 4th month, and I became discouraged. I went on and off with Atkins for several month, and tried one of those other " sensible " plans, one that encourages low-fat and high carbs, and I've been miserable on it. Today, I decided to try Atkins once again, so starting tomorrow, I'm back on it. This time, I'm going to rely more on how my clothes fit rather that the numbers on the scale. I only have about 15 lbs to lose, and I feel so much better eating the Atkins way. I really look forward to joining in on the group where we can encourage, listen, and learn from each other. Guest guest
I also have only about 20 pounds to lose and went on the Atkins Diet in the past - only to stall at the halfway mark. I started Atkins again yesterday and I am determined to stay with it. i think those of us who are very frustrated over a relatively small amount of weight get extremely impatient. The goal seems so close, we get sort of desparate to cross the finish line and think we should be able to do it in a month or two. Let's stick it out this time.... S. Guest guest
Hi, I joined the list today. A few people my husband works with are the Atkins Diet, so he told me about it. We will be doing it together. I bought the book yesterday, but cannot start the 14 day induction until the 25 of this month. Going out of town for 4 days, the book says to wait if you are going out of town. So I thought I could use the next week or so to get prepared. I hope someone can help me out with the things I have been wondering about. First, did anyone find any good recipes to use during the first 14 days. I am looking at the things we can eat and can't think of too many things to make. I'm useless in the kitchen without a recipe. Help! Second is how did you feed the kids? Our daughter sure does NOT need any weight loss. Thanks for all your help. Looking forward to chatting with you. Kim

Guest guest
Great advice ! Just had my Day 1 Atkins breakfast of bacon, eggs scrambled in butter, cheese, and coffee with cream...YUMMMMMMMY! Sure beats 1/2 cup oatmeal and a piece of fruit :-) I think we should focus on how we feel and how our clothes fit rather than watch those numbers on the scale. Like I've it said, health is a state of mind, not just a number. Here's to good health to all! P. I have a 3 yr. old and a 2 yr. old and I feed them what they like and what they've always eaten....PB&J, chicken nuggets, vegetables, apple sauce, etc. I just prepare simple meals for myself. I don't cook one dinner for everyone anymore which works out fine because my husband works nights and isn't here for dinner anyway. Guest guest
Kim, Congratulations for getting ready--speaking from experience, it helps. I was on vacation with friends who talked me into trying Atkins. I spent the time reading the book, making lists of what I needed to get, etc. I especially recommend the vitamins, make sure you plan to stay healthy! As far as planning with your kids, etc, my husband is NOT doing Atkins, so sometimes we have different meals, but still eat together so we don't miss our together time. It's really not too hard, as long as you keep yourself from " tasting " while you are cooking for them. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Just wanted to say thanks for all the welcomes And everyone that gave me some idea's on sites to check, and feeding the kids. I was just wondering, for anyone that felt moody. Do you have PMS? Did it happen to be about PMS time. I know I have it and sometimes I just don't realize it's PMS time. JoAnne, Congratulation on your 20 pounds!! I have one more question. Do you buy your vitamin's off the shelf or do you order from the Dr. Atkins site? Thanks, Kim
