CJ,

Sorry you were having a bad day. Some days just really suck. Those

phone calls must have been very difficult. There are many ups and

downs ahead of you but I'm hoping for more " ups " for you.

CJ,

I understand those calls.

You tell the same story over and over. It becomes hard to heal when you keep

reliving the pain over. It has been

a year since my son¡Çs death and it seems like yesterday I was telling our story

to friends. You are going to have good and bad days. It is normal and it is

o.k. to cry out loud.

You are never going to

fully recover after a loss like ours. You will smile again but that will take

sometime. I am so sorry that you had a very bad day. However I am happy that

you found this group. We can give the strength, support and info. you need. We live

close to each other and if you are ever in my area maybe we can meet in person

or talk on the phone. It helps to talk to someone who has been through it all. Just

let me know. I am on MBR/SBR so I am home all the time. We could set up a

weekly calling if you need one. Take care of your self.

God bless,

Taryn

Bad day

Ladies,

Thanks so much for the information regarding the

doctors in FL. My

husband and I feel as if we have renewed hope

now. I would have

posted yesterday to thank everyone but I had a

VERY BAD day. I am

working from home right now and thought I'd try to

get back into the

swing of things with work and school, but every

call that I took was

from someone asking me how the babies were

doing. I then had to go

through explaining what happened and basically reliving

it all over

again. Then to make matters worse, I got a

call from the hospital

asking me what I wanted to " do " with the

twins. I thought to myself

what I'd like to " do " is have them

placed back in my belly and have

a normal pregnancy like a normal person, but of

course I didn't say

that. I had my husband call back to make

arrangements. I've

realized that although I'm getting better

physically the emotional

pain is still very raw. I really do thank

all of you ladies for

letting me vent and giving me hope.

Hey Stace:

Like you I am six days post-op and have had similar problems eating the

soft foods. I am just banded and not wired so that helps to a certain degree.

The biggest problem I have is swelling. My lower lip feels like 10 times

it's normal size and I have a big red " splotch " on my neck from the swelling

moving down my body. Oh well, hang in there and good luck.

Stacey,

I'm sorry you're having a bad day and can totally relate to the

feeling! You've been going through this for nearly a week now and

it's bound to get you down after awhile.

Swallowing isn't the easiest, but it will get better, and the clicking

probably will too. Like my mom told me, this is something that just

has to be endured. Just make sure you're getting plenty of nutritious

liquids so you can keep your energy up, despite the difficulty

swallowing. The first week is the hardest!

Hang in there,

Beth

Stacey -

I am so sorry you had a bad day. I had trouble swallowing the first

few days because the tubes they put down my throat irritated me.

This, too, shall pass. And I know the anesthesia and drugs they pump

into you in the hospital can have a depressing effect - don't worry -

it's normal and also will pass. Just keep eating and taking your

medication. Know that the worst part is just about over. I started

feeling better about 6-or 7-days later... then I quickly got over

the hump.

And remember, like someone else said - you're not going through it

alone.

HI Stacey

The clicking you describe is ok, the jaws are sort of settling down

after surgery. I couldn't eat much at all for a few weeks, try

Esure, if you can stomach it, I could only drink raspberry, caramel

and strawberry. Have whole fat milkshakes blended with

bananas/strawberries and drink through a straw. Things will improve

take your time and don't worry about what you look like

drinking/eating its like regressing back to being a baby for a whole

with straws and lots of slurping. You'll get there.

Don't give up. I had lesions on my skin for years that was diagnosed

as everything from hives to ring worm and was treated as such. It

wasn't until I went to a dermatologist and had a biopsy that my

diagnosis of Lupus was made. Hang in there. There is help out there.
