Guest guest
is to have surgery in January for a surgical jejunostomy. We are now in the process of getting the Okla. medicaid to approve it. Everyone say your prayers that they will. Please, I'm not kidding. It is one of the worst medicaid states.... He has had three reactions in the last 6 months. One was to Kendall Curasilk tape & then to a urine bag, the last was when he was put in the feeted pj's by gerber. Anyhow, we now have him on latex precautions. Can you please tell me what all this involves? Guest guest
Rhonda, KOdy is also having a J-tube placed in the next few weeks. Make sure the surgeon is going to do a Roux en Y placement of the tube... this allows placement of a " button " instead of the normal big tube.. more comfy for the kid and you can change it yourself. otherwise, everytime the thing slips out you have to go to radiology to have it replaced. Guest guest
Thanks, Cathy. Are you pleased with the results of the surgery? What about complications & long term results? Guest guest
Kody's is being done at Walter . I'm not sure of all the specifics of it, but he explained it just as one of my cyberfriends on another list had. They make a tract for the tube so you can place a button in it instead of the long standard pain in the neck J tube. S.
