I think the idea of an introductory letter is great. But do you think removal for 1 flame may be to great a penalty if the person is really upset? Once they have signed up it won't matter. I just realized that for other types of lists such as Listserv and Majordomo you sign up by e-mail so you wouldn't need web access.
