Guest guest
Dear Deb, It seems that you have so much inner anger that you cannot find any meaningful ways to release it. Perhaps therapy or talking with a counselor may help you achieve the inner peace that you need to go on. These groups are for people helping people, not for your slanderous posts. You have told your story and people, including me, sympathize with you. When you say that your first post after surgery was " under the influence " , I personally have a hard time believing that. You sound very clear that you understood that you had a complication. Whatever the real story is, if you are pursuing legal action, like you said you are, these slanderous posts will only hurt, not help your claims. Please pursue whatever legal rememdies that are open to you. Your slanderous posts and this new group are not in tune with what this board is about. Guest guest
Jane, i have dealt with your nasty e-mails to me, and i could care less what your opinions are. I welcome any legal action Ren would care to take concerning my so called slanderous posts. This is not about you Jane, sorry to break it to you, but it's not about you I will continue to search and post and gather information and pursue whatever means open to me, any means open to me. let me tell you about my day so far, no lets make it my past two days. I've puked at least 4 times. I have constant chills from dumping anything I eat, even pure protein. I have no energy cause my blood sugar keeps crashing, more dumping effects. My esophagus burns nearly non stop despite 2, 30 mg prevacids a day. Let me describe waking up choking on the reflux twice last nite. It feels like your drowning, only it's not water, but intestinal and gastric contents washing up my esophagus, i wonder if i will end up like Max in Canada, she needs to sleep in an elevated position, of course she lost her stomach from the DS procedure, and has her esophagus connected to her intestines, like a tube, not unlike my configuration, there is a constant risk for aspiration pneumonia. Let me tell you about the constand pain in my stomach and right upper quad. Might be a marginal ulcer forming. You can twist my words attempt to refute whatever I say, but again let me remind you, Jane, this is not about you. Oh and about my anger, you bet your ass I'm fucking pissed. I no longer have any quality of life cause of your dear, sweet, capable Dr. Ren. You know it's a funny thing about saying there is no complications in a surgical note or doing procedures that will cause complications in the intermediate or long term, you can then shift stats off your particular service, in this case the surgical one, it's called " turfing them out " . deb

Guest guest
Dear Deb, I just want to clarify one thing, I have never, ever sent you (or anyone else) any nasty e-mails. I sympathize with you. No, I would not want to be in your shoes. I went into surgery knowing that complications and death were possible. I am glad nothing serious went wrong with my surgery. I am sorry that something went wrong with yours. Try and help yourself anyway you can. Have you spoken with another DS surgeon about a possible revision? If a man can go to the moon, there has to be the capability on this Earth for someone to help you suffer less. Subj: Dr. Ren Date: 3/24/01 12:17:24 AM Eastern Standard Time From: joemeetsjane@... (Jodi Hicks) To: CIAR1@... Dear Deb, In light of the fact that Jackie Ward had the same complication that you did, I really feel that your nasty and unfair comments about Dr. Ren should be retracted. Also, it is outrageous that you have posted on other groups that Dr. Ren has had 6 deaths, when in fact she has had none reported. Any complication is unfortunate. We all go into surgery knowing that it is possible that something may not come out as we planned. This is the risk that is known when we consent to surgery. I think your comments should be reconsidered as they are untrue and slanderous. If you are having trouble dealing with your situation, a therapist's office may be a more appropriate forum. Guest guest
I am deeply offended at this post you sent, Jane. The list owner has made clear that there is value in having Deb post her experiences here whether or not it is comfortable for other members to read them. That is very much what this list seems to be about. The good, the bad and the ugly. Deb has been incredibly supportive of others here and makes valuable contributions to our list, IMHO. Slander is a legal term and I feel confident that Dr Ren and Deb and their attorneys can deal with the legal stuff without our interpretation of what ought/ought not to be done. I don't think that emotions have been banned from the list. Anger is a valid emotion, and a fact for Deb. I don't feel harmed by reading her posts in which she reveals her thoughts and emotions. I would hope that you might come to be able to accept that this *is* what Deb thinks and feels-- no matter how troubling it is to you. She is in pain physically and emotionally. Generally we try to offer support not criticism for that condition. Hope you can find a kinder way to talk with one of our list members who is having a very hard time right now. in Seattle ----- Original Message ----- > Dear Deb, > > It seems that you have so much inner anger that you cannot find any > meaningful ways to release it. Guest guest
I agree with . I think Deb's (Ciar) comments are very valid and helpful to the group here. Prior to surgery i wanted to know everything that could go wrong. I also researched many surgeons and when my date from March 15 was changed to April 5, I almost wanted to switch surgeons to dr. Ren. But after hearing Deb's story, I made my decision to stay with Gagner and April 5th. Now I did have a complication in my surgery. the stapler malfunctioned and Gagner handled it perfectly. I dont want to think about what would have happened if the surgery was performed by someone else. But I think it is real important to know as much as you can before surgery. I even went as far as reading EVERY single profile in the AMOS WLS Memorial to find out what happened. Pretty morbid, but I wanted to know. Many people have had great experiences with Ren and they can post them as well. Guest guest
I am pleased to announce a new group for the organization I founded to support consumers for mercury-free dentistry, health and environment. I began building web sites to warn about the dangers of mercury a number of years back, Toothousand, micromercurial maze, Canary Production, Toothk, I'm glad to see so many encouraged. This new group is to address cause, issues, networking and support group referrals. Advocacy, volunteering, research projects, documentary and materials to address mercury. Going that extra step for grants, major advertising, sponsorship and building a representative group of members. As a legitimate organization, raising awareness both online and off, I encourage membership, subscription is optional. Signing up under yahoo makes it easy to visit online without getting more emails.... I know, been at this a long time. ______________________________________ **Tooth Fairy Trust is an online organization** http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ToothFairyTrust Mercury cause-issues & support group referral ______________________________________ Leave the light on -- maz
