" mezze " are ubiquitous [tabouli/parsley - some are sensitive to this;

babaghanouj = delicious eggplant dip; hummus = garbanzo dip, calorific, but ok

carbwise] Check for carb counts and eat accordingly. Meat is always served,

sometimes veggie entrees [but watch for hidden carbs]. Avoid bread, pasta,

potatoes. Easy to eat healthy in the ME!

[alldiabeticinternational] A questiion about traveling with diabetes

I will be making my first trip to the Middle East (Kuwait) for

business purposes in a few weeks. Currently I am diet controlled,

and a " semi " vegetarian. How difficult will it be to do carb

counting in the Middle East? I made my first overseas trip as a

diabetic to London in March. I found carb counting there to be very

easy, because the products were labeled with nutritional

information. Will it be similarly easy in Kuwait?

Regards,

Debra
