Hi everyone,

I am having pain in my back and numbness in my arms, legs, back and face, as

well as cramping and burning sensations all over my body. I have just finished

a cross country move, including a four day drive. I tried not to do any heavy

lifting or anything, but now I am flat on my back in a hotel room. I am also

having bad rls- I got almost no sleep the night before. I also had a bad panic

attack because I was scared. It is frightening when your face goes numb- I

couldn't taste anything because my mouth was numb. I am going to try to see a

Doctor next week, but we are new in town, and my husband doesn't even know what

our insurance will be yet. The other thing about my strange numbness is that it

tends to be just the skin that is numb. It doesn't feel like my hands are

asleep, just that the feels like leather. Anyway, if anyone has ever had

strange problems with their back, please write me and give me some hope.

Right now it feels like I will never be normal again.

Hi girls,

I'm just wondering when I'm going to get assertive!!!!

Went to a kids party yesterday at a friends place. I did all the kids food,

cakes cookies etc to be safe. Imagine my horror when a good friend pulled

out a plate of walnut brownies. (jack is anaphylactic to walnut) I found it

so so hard because she simply didn't understand what I was trying to say so

in the end I said to her that Jack could inhale a piece or get some on his

skin even if he didn't swallow it. I found the experience so draining and

emotional and then she called me weeping in the evening to say what a crap

friend she was, I found myself apologising for not being assertive enough. I

wrote all my friends a very detailed letter to try and head all this off.

It's so hard!!

I cried in the car on the way down the freeway and felt so sad all over

again. I just feel that every event ends up with the only talk being of

anaophylaxis and while that's great because people have to learn, I feel

like the case study with my freak child.

I love this group because you girls will understand this!!!

love libby

Libby,

I totally understand where you are coming from! Having a child that is so deathly allergic to a food is something that only a parent of a child with the same can understand. If you don't live with it every day, it is easy to forget. If I am trying to explain the allergy, I put it as arsenic. Do you want your child eating arsenic? No, you don't! It could kill them. Well, (in my case) nuts and peanuts and any product that could contain or come in contact is like giving my child arsenic!

My family didn't understand how dangerous it was for them to eat the nuts/peanuts and then be around my child until I showed them the paper from the doctor that said the results of his testing. They just thought that I was an over paranoid mother. It was horrible! They now have some understanding though.

When your child's life is at stake, you have to be assertive. I am glad that Jack was ok and that he didn't come into contact with it! You are a good mother! Jack will really appreciate all you do for him!!!!

Hugs to you my friend!!

Alyssa

hi all

i recently had an eye check up about a year ago that showed blood spots

(about seven) in both eyes due to bleeding in vein behind retina due to

kinking from uncontrollled blood pressure.

i started increasing my drinking of green tea, took billberry and grape

skin capsules and vitamin e (natural) 800iu and ester c 500mg daily and

the spots were absorbed and whatever tears were in the veins sealed. i

stilll have the kinking, but also my bp is better. i also added cardizem

to my avapro and als take zocor at night.

and oolong tea and earl grey tea.

stash tea company is my favorite.

just thought you all would like to know.

i also stopped drinking so much coffee.
