Does it make it difficult for you to find products we mention here? Do you have to exchange everything for metric measurements? I love the pictures of Switzerland, usually the alps, but the meadows I have seen really please me. Because I was taught the americam measuring system as a child, I have no problem with it, but I have seen kids graduate high school and college without being able to tell me how many feet in a mile (5,280). LOL Will wait for your site to be posted. Hugs, marilyn artist? musical, painter? bye :-)

Might be awhile before we visit Switzerland - but it will come! They been trying to convert us Americans to metric for ever it seems. You know the American mentality - " Our Way or No Way. Well, first I have been pretty high in Colorado in more ways than one. Cigarettes and Achohol... I get real dizzy at anything higher than the pass between Ouray (Little Switzerland) and Telluride - somewhere around 14,150 feet or as you Europeans say " 4312.92 meters " I listened to your song - pretty cool, that's for sure! P.S. I quite smoking since then! & T1

Sounded almost like a futurestic (sp?) piece with the background. The background was a little loud for me to make out the workd, but I had printed it out before, so I had them. Old ears I think! Joe, your signatire makes me sad, you are sooo much more than Joe Diabetic, you are Joe the artist. Diabetes touches our lives, but you and I and everyone else here, are first children of God, then we are students of life, some, such as yourself become very talented people ;-) Don't let diabetes cover you over! Okay? HUgs and happy weekend! Marilyn diagnoses in 2000

Kidneys are higher up by your waist. Do you have fever? That is a dead giveaway. Strong smelling urine is another, pee into a glass container, is it clear and light yellow? Foggy? Dark? If anything but light yellow appears, increase your water intake and see a doctor as soon as you can. You said you have talked with your doctor, which is good, but do keep a close eye on it. Can you drink cranberry juice? Ocean spray has one made with Splenda and that is great for your kidneys. If you feel bad or feel stressed, this will cause your BG;s to rise, depressing you more. I will add a prayer for you (yes, says I can pray all I want!LOL). I am more concerned than your UTI though. I hear the depression and it sounds like you have resigned your self to be miserable! Get out of that way of thinking it is a self fulfilling prophecy!!! I think if you are not feeling better soon about life I mean, you would to wisely to consult your doctor for an antidepressant. I know you are not a weak man, but sometimes we get knocked down so low we have to have a little help getting up. Please consider this if you think you have reached this point. Joe, remember you are nor diabetes, it is just something that has found a way into your life and it will be controlled soon and you will learn diabetics can do anything they want, within reason I mean. I am not saying " Go out for a hot fudge sundae " , but have a scoop of sugar free ice cream (low fat too :-) with some SF chocolate syrup on it! Yes, we can do it, we just need to use a few modifications and remember to walk it off, too! You are already doing that part, so you are one up on most others starting to run this gauntlet. As far as the teeth, yes, it is related to diabetes, see your dentist every 6 months is what everything I read says. Joe, have a good weekend, cheer up, you are not alone, we are here and we care, big time! Hugs, Marilyn
Guest guest
Hi Joe, I can agree with Marilyn about depression being your enemy. I became clinically depressed last year. Everything just piled up on me: diabetes, frozen shoulder, stomach ulcer, worry about my son in college, and finally...my father's death. To make a very long story short, once I started seeing a therapist and went on Paxil and Wellbutrin, I began to get better. It was different as night and day. Now I'm back to myself -- in fact, I'm more myself than I've been in ages. Things improved. I still have diabetes, but I don't dwell on it. I know you can't just will yourself to get better, but meds are a real blessing. Don't put it off. I think this site is a great idea. I don't really know any other diabetics to talk to. It's comforting to know someone else understands.
