Guest guest
Arissa started on Duphalac (lactalose) this past friday. By monday morning, Arissa was back to her old self and old ways-crying, not sleeping thru the night, clingy, cranky. After 3 days, I stopped giving it to her. I had to try it. With experiencing the first peace with her for the past ten days, after 1.5 years of crying, I wasn't giving it much time. I couldn't take the crying. And lo and behold after about 36 hours, there is peace again. She is back and happy and wonderful. This whole episode really scars me. This drug is not supposed to be absorbed by any system in the body from what I understand, just by the stools. If she can't handle this, there is no way she will ever be able to handle food. And the doc wanted to try again in a month. People say over and over again, isn't hard not to feed your child. They don't understand how great I feel, we all feel and the peace in our house with NOT allowing her to eat. Guest guest
I asked Dr. Sampson about Clayton taking lactalose and he said no problems although it often does not work on kids like Clayton and obviously it is not worling very well. love, sharon mommy to Jake (5) and fraternal twins (34.5 weeks) (3/30/97) - Cole -(nda) and Clayton (eosinophil gastroenteritis, food allergies, g-tube, Nissen and possible latex allergy, some dd and undiagnosed neuro issues)
Guest guest
Most of us understand on this list all about how good our kids (and myself) feel without eating anything. Kody never did get better until we tried a total NPO/strictly neocate diet. THis has been so successful, the tentative plan is for ME to go on a strictly neocate diet and if that works, we may ALL go on it. It will cost 15,000 a monht. Imagine! If your child feels better without food, so be it. Life is more than eating; and happiness and being pain free is much more important than being " normal " . I have gone without food for months on TPN and the resulting relief was well worth it.. SJHarlow@... http://www.c4isr.com/harlow
