Update on our SSI situation

September 15, 1998

Hi, we were able to get a week extension and I am working on changing

workers, ours seems to have a personal problem with us.

Yesterday was such a bad day. We haven't had one of them in such a time,

it seemed all went wrong. I guess we were due for one.

I went to the doctor and finally confessed that maybe some anti-depressants

would help. Having a sick child is such an up and downer. The doctors

mentioned it to me before because they know having an Army hubby, he is

much help to me and I don't have family anywhere around close so I do 90%

of his care on my own. I still feel sort of weird about taking them but he

said that the constant headaches I have are probably caused by depression

and stress. Not to mention the fact that I have gained all the weight I

have fought for a year to lose and most nights don't even sleep. My hubby

tries very hard to help, he is the best but I am so used to doing it all

alone, it is hard to pass the torch sometimes but I have been making nights

for Bingo and even have been lucky sometimes.

On , we having been doing the Prednisone weaning and failing terribly.

We are down to half doses and his stools are increasing and have a lot of

undigested food in them. Yesterday, he was in rare form which only added

to the day. We fed him ham and there it was right in his diaper as if it

didn't go through him at all. The tummy pain seems to be increasing more

every day. His GI's only recommendations on this are to hospitalize him

for a few days and give him bowel rest. We are passing on this as it is

only a temporary fix and we have had it with them.
