Guest guest
Yes, giving all the meds on time, every time is QUITE a challenge. I have 5 of them and myself to drug. Here is what we have done: Posted on the inside of the medicine PANTRY is a detailed list of times/dosages for everyone. Sort of a flow chart by time. Each person has their own BUCKET full of meds, but the older ones have a pill box (7 days worth) which I fill once a week) . Then it is just a question of getting the box to them at the appropriate time, the meds are already put out. FOr the younger ones on liquid meds, getting them dosed out in the a.m. for the whole day helps. Then If I have to go out, or am gone, they are easily taken with or given by the caregiver at the correct time. I also give Kody's meds (as many as possible) that are given once a day AT NIGHT since the mornings are so crazy with all the kids getting off to school and his meds are many and via GTube. At night it is calmer, quieter and I don't forget. You will eventually get used to the dosing schedule and wll learn to plan your life around medication schedules. It is a real pain in the beginning, but you will get used to it. It is just OUR LIFE and we all just deal with it. This is not to say that we don;t have an occasional screw up on a really crazy day... they are just fewer and farther between than in the beginning. Hope this helps.
