I am going to be 58 in a couple of weeks, so I may as well get used to saying it! LOL I have been married to Don for 40 years this coming October. Since we were young and convinced we could take on the world! LOL We have 6 kids, 3 sons, 38,37,35, twin daughters 22, and a 12 year old. The twelve year old is actually the daughter of my middle son. He is bipolar, makes poor choices, is unable to care for her, so we have had her since she was a couple of months old. We have had 45 foster children, 700 birds (assorted types, we were breeders), lots od dogs and kitties, fish and every stray that wonders through...LOLI am an avid collector of cookie jars. I started the collection by accident, it just grew! My dh is from Hawaii, and he collects cookie jar cars and all sorts of Hawaiian memorobelia. I also collect china and dinnerware sets. No idea why. I just love them ;-) We love to camp, and keep our coach set up in a thousand trails park for quick get-a-ways. We are expecting our 7th grandchild in a few months, We don't appear to do anything the simple way! Don broke his back in 1985, so he retired at 38. I wasn't expecting that, either! I have been a homemaker and mom, now a nurse ;-). Don and I love The Lord, and are very grateful for the blessings He has sent to us. Anytime you need prayer, I will be happy to add you to my list. We are located in San , Ca. where the sun shines, when it wants to! LOL windy the past week. Many hugs, Marilyn Oh, I have been a type 2 for 4 years. Guest guest
Ok guys, eventually, I have to get sleep so that's when T1 - Takes her knap = someone can wake her up! - she is very disciplined, and we see one of those " Hi-Tech " dietitians who wants her not only to count carbs - but count anything going in - same time every day. Please keep in mind she's T1 and was 80lbs and now 92 - damn that's good - that's my baby. In her (our) fourth week - I'm a puppy dog (do all research) and she says " I KNOW WHAT I HAVE TO DO!!! " We don't even want to talk numbers yet.... but Just in case someone is listening - Dietitian says is hard to blame last meal on B/S. I'm not sure I agree. She says there are so many variables in B/S readings - in the end you just want them avg right. I assure you we are getting well educated. Carbs(and all that other stuff)+-portion=insulin --- B/S --- eventual exercise. STOP & T1

Not my territory! LOL I know for myself, if I mix carb with protein and a small amount of fat, it doesn't seem to go as high as if I had a carb alone. Make sense? Yes, this is a good education for all of us, we learn from each other/ Hugs, Marilyn
