Guest guest
Well the nurse finally called today with 's results which he said were perfectly CLEAN. No eosinophils. I still can't believe it. I still have a ton of questions I am waiting for the actual GI doc to call me back. Mostly, if the eosinophils are gone, why is still having diarrhea and still having tummy pain. The nurse who I talked to said our GI doc wanted to admit to see why these things are still going on. We still come down to the fact that the hospital is not a good place for and I think our GI doc is admit-happy. I asked the nurse if this meant we could take off all the meds, mostly the Prednisone and she said no that if you take them away too soon, the eosinophils will come back. She said we should continue them for 8 more weeks and then see. I am unsure if this means is cured or what. Has anyone ever had an eosinophil free biopsy? Guest guest
Dawn, Yes yes yes.. This is exactly what happens with prednisone and EG and EE( there are now two studies out there on this). A hallmark difference in this disease and just reflux or other diseases is that prednisoine is the ONLY thing that works. When my kids went on it the first time it was the ONLY time they did not have eos in the biopsies. We left them on it for a few months, then tapered off and all the symptoms gradually returned and follow up biopsies showed a complete return of all the eos. Guest guest
I am so bummed!!! So, although our GI said no, the Prednisone can mask the disease? Can you give me your GI's phone number and name. I would like to tell Dr. Friesen about this and have him call him if you wants to know for sure. I am thinking a trip to Walter might not be a bad idea but my only thing is that I don't want on Prednisone forever. Do I get a choice? Guest guest
Arissa's biopsy last week was cleanER but not spotless. We feel exactly the way you do-why is she is so much pain and so unhappy then. There was such a big difference when she was off all foods. If it is not the EOS and not the reflux-WHAT IS IT????? And now that she is eating again, the asthma is back and she is on 6 treatments and day. WHY???? Phyllis-mom to Arissa (12/22/95) EG, multiple food allergies, occasional asthma Remi 6, Spina Bifida, developmental delays, allergies-nuts, shellfish and latex

I am printing many of these messages to show to Dr. Friesen that I am NOT crazy. I thank you Phyllis for this reassurance. If shows no EOS in his biopsy then why all the diarrhea still and why does he still cry with tummy pain. I sometimes feel so crazy.
