Hi Wambo, fun name! LOL I read your into with interest. I recognized

Charcot immediately. Are you familiar with Charcot Marie Tooth disease? When

we

were kids (22) just after our third son was born, Don (dh) had his first foot

surgery. It was because of this disease, although they did not know it at the

time. A few years later they did determine this. He had his feet rebuilt 3

times in the next 10 years. They told him he would be in a wheelchair by 40.

Stanford Hospital did the worst job on him, but was improved some after the

second 2 surgeries.

I liked your parting line, Be Proactive. This is such a valuable piece of

advice. We are all better off when we actually place ourselves as a full

partner in our medical care! Nice to hear you are a full time RV'er. We keep

one

set up as a second home on a thousand trail campground, but will never have the

dedication to full time it. :-) God bless, keep your eyes on the trail

ahead, hugs, Marilyn

Proactive...

Now that's a word. Does it mean to act, instead of think or does it

mean just plain do something about it...

It used to not be a word??? Now what does that mean. What was the same

response or word in the old days...

Not starting a political debate.

GREETINGS --

Like most words in the English language Proactive means many

different things for different people and has many nuances. To me,

in the context of my health, it means to take charge and

responsibility for it. To many times people want authority over

something, but do not want to bear reesponsibility for that same

thing. Also, in a broader context, to me a life by design is better

than a life by default.

Now that makes sense... At one time, it was sorta too politically

correct for me, however, your meaning has great meaning...

If I may - to act, but not be responsible for it's outcome - opposite of

proactive.

Open minds and open ears - one will learn!

Hello,

In working in a mental health office, proactive is used in the contect of

doing something about it.
