Okay, I am new to this list, so I don't want to sound presumptuous, so I

wasn't going to say anything, then I thought about it, and maybe this

would help someone, so I will say something.

My son has the same thing your children have. In fact, when he was

diagnosed, the doctor said it was one of the worst cases she had seen in

a child so young. But, she had him on completely different treatments

that the rest of you. She is affiliated with a research hospital, so it

may be a new treatment. In only 21 months, my son was all better. Maybe

what my son has is a different sort of EG or something, but I am

confused as to why my son had it so easy once he started treatment, and

everyone else's children are going through so much.

This is the treatment,.....

For the reflux...zantac

For the rest Periactin

eventually, he went off of the zantac, at this point, he is off both

medicines.

I am going to call my son's gastro doctor in the morning and talk to him

about this, because this confuses me why my son was on a different

treatment, and why my son did so well and got better so quick. I wasn't

going to say anything, because I didn't want to come off bad, but, I

would hate to find out it was some new kind of treatment, and someone

else might benefit from it. I am willing to provide names and phone

numbers to the doctors I used, if it is some new treatment, so that

anyone else can call. I just want to help, I hope I haven't offended

anyone.

I think that is one of the frustrating things about this disease. What works

for some kids does not work for others. My son had taken several medications

with no success. For him, the feeding tube followed by an elimination diet

have been the key to controlling this disease. Amy's son Bryce has done great

using flonase sprayed into the throat yet 's kids had no luck with

that treatment. Also, many of the kids on this list have multiple medical

problems. I think this further complicates everything.

Any info you could share about your child's treatment would be great. At what

age did you start this treatment? Does your son still take the medications?
