Guest guest
Hi all: got a printout of claytosn ph probe here they are - any comments are welcome: This was a 2 channel 24 hour (actually 22.5 hours) ph probe done while clayton was on propulsid and zantac, CHannel 1: # of reflux episodes: 271 Longest episode: 34 minutes Episodes over 5 minutes : 18 Percentage of time below 4.0 - 31% (358 minutes) Channel 2: # of reflux episodes: 316 Longest episode: 115 minutes Episodes over 5 minutes : 13 Percentage of time below 4.0 - 33.2% (416 minutes) Also they gave a numerical scoring on acid reflux for both channels: Channel 1 Total Score 100.6 DeMeester normals <14.72 Channel 2 Total Score 125.3 DeMeester normals <14.72 I have not idea what those numbers mean. Today was not a great day for Clayton - only consumed 10 ounces but he did eat 2 little pieces of turkey and some cheerios. Not enough calories though. Hope all is well with everyone else. Can anyone who has the Nissen or a modified version of the surgery please let me know what levels your kids were at when they had the surgery. THanks. Guest guest
Gee, Sharon, those sound to me like Clayton is in too much pain to eat! That poor child needs some major relief. Matt had was in miserable pain before his reflux diagnosis was made when he was a baby--as I told you his pH probe showed he refluxed 71% of the time, which the Stanford docs said was one of the worst results they had ever seen. I sure didn't want to win that contest! I don't know what you mean by " levels your kid was " --are you referring to the pH probe results? In any event Matt had a Thal-Nissen done via an abdominal (laparotomy) approach. When he was smaller they wanted to do it by thoracotomy (open the chest) but I wanted to wait until he was older so they could do it by laparotomy instead. Hugs!
