,

My heart goes out to you with all you have been through. I can't believe

you've had to go through seven Nissens. One was bad enough for me. I was

wondering if, after so many surgeries, you have had any problem with latex

allergy.

Latex allergy is the lastest battle we've had to fight. We are sure

developed his latex allergy from repeated hospitalizations and surgical

procedures. We have tried to eliminate as much latex as possible from his

environment, but I'm sure we aren't even close to where we should be. It

is extremely difficult when he is hospitalized to work around all the

latex. We are learning more each day.

also suffers from dysmotility. I think the test to diagnose his

dysmotility was barbaric. Of course, we were dealing with a specialist who

we didn't care much for. We switched doctors shortly after. is

unable to tolerate a high rate of infusion, and as a result has to carry

his Kangaroo pump around with him for many hours each day. We tried night

feeds, but he is so active, he constantly disconnected his tubing. After a

few nights of changing him and his entire bedding, we decided to stop night

feedings.
