Guest guest
Yes, getting a good fit has always been a problem for me (My " ear " was reconstructed 40 years ago and is deficient by today's standards). The the left (microtia) ear is set noticeably forward of the right ear. It used to be easy to order different sized temples (or bows, the arms of the glasses that sit on the ears) at the same cost when buying new glasses but not any more. The frames come as is. No exceptions. My current ophthalmologist who is very thorough and well informed, ( he immediately recognized me as having Goldenhar's Syndrome and was familiar with the condition) strangely refuses to adjust my glasses fit to my satisfaction (like I said he IS good and it is a closed insurance plan and he is close by). So once I get my new glasses I go some where else to get them adjusted. I was recently at the optical shop at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and needless to say the did a wonderful job of adjusting both pairs of glasses. One note is that plastic frames are easier to mold and adjust. Some metal temples CAN be trimmed back but NOT all of them can be.
