Guest guest
We are switching from DMSA to DMPS. We went with DMSA for about 5 months when finally a urine test showed no more mercury excretion. However, a subsequent DMPS challenge surprised us with a high mercury reading. What should be a dose per pound for a 3-year old? 3 days on 11 off is still the correct protocol, right? Guest guest
Andy says 1/8 - 1/2 mg per pound every 8 hours. Our 3 year old weighs 33 pounds and we use 15mg per capsule with no problems whatsoever. When we first started, we accidentally did two rounds with 20mg and saw no problems, but went back down to 15mg to prevent them. You can do 3 on 11 off, but we have also done 3 on 4 off a few times to get a few extra rounds in. Good Luck! Kim > We are switching from DMSA to DMPS.
