Guest guest
Our daughter Eliana who is now 6 weeks old appears to be doing well with her bone conduction hearing aid. Has anyone observed any benefits from having it on while sleeping. At night I take it off. However, sometimes during the day it's difficult to take it off once she falls asleep. She starts to wake-up and then we have to try to get her to fall asleep again.

We would hold/rock him with music on, lights dimmed. Then once he fell asleep (it was quite the ritual) we would slowly try to take off the hearing aid, then slowly walk to his room, slowly lay him down, slowly move our arm from underneath him etc. etc. Anyway, we would often leave the hearing aid on until he was really asleep, and there was less chance of waking him up. I don't believe there is any benefit to sleeping with it on. In fact, I would make sure you don't leave her with it on, the aid could be a choking hazard. When was older (and falling asleep in his own bed by himself) we would leave his aid on while he fell asleep so he could hear the music. Once he was asleep we would take the aid off for him. He now falls asleep without his aid. We did have some troubles with the wire on the hearing aid, and I think it may be in part because he would sleep for a while with the aid on. Keep in mind, that 's BCHA setup has no headband, and thus the wire just hangs behind his neck. Hope this helps...let me know if you have any questions Steve
